WE’RE JOINING THE KRAFT JET-PUFFED MARSHMALLOWS TEAM!!!

Pinching. Pinching. Still pinching myself and not waking up. Wow, this is really happening. It’s not a dream!!

I am jumping with excitement over here! After months and months of holding it in, I am thrilled to finally be able to tell you all that The Marshmallow Studio is being sponsored byKRAFT Jet-Puffed marshmallows. This is HUGE!! Jet-Puffed being the #1 marshmallow manufacturer in the United States asked me to join their team?!?!? They sure did :) Let me tell ya, it’s a beautiful feeling to know that the marshmallow brand I love and use the most actually admires what I create and think so highly of me as to bring me on board as their “digital spokesperson”. I feel soo honored and blessed!!

I have joined their team as the new Community Manager. You’ll soon find me creating amazing marshmallow masterpieces, sharing recipes, videos and more on the Jet-Puffed Facebook page and other social media outlets such as Pinterest and Website. Can’t disclose too much yet but I can tell you we are working on lots of really fun and innovative things that I’m sure you’ll love so stay tunned for those. I will keep you informed of what’s coming up so you don’t miss a thing.

What better way to make this announcement than with marshmallows? I wanted to make this announcement extra special so I ‘mallorized the JET-PUFFED logo. We used a 48″ X 36″ board, mini marshmallows,  MallowBits and StackerMallows. My husband and I had actually had a pretty good time making this together!

WE’RE PUBLISHING A BOOK!!!

YES, you read right! :) I am ecstatic to finally tell you all that we are working on our first book! What started off as just a crazy idea is now truly happening. Two years ago when I founded The Marshmallow Studio I thought people would just want to order my designs (or not even) then I started receiving endless wonderful emails from around the world requesting tutorials, videos, and classes. I had accidentally created a new craze and it became fuel for me to keep pushing the limits. My students, customers, fans and readers have inspired me to truly pursue this book venture and make it a reality. My goal is to make a humble contribution to the world that could hopefully make an impact in someone’s life.

A little bit about the book… it will show you step-by-step, how to make over 72 designs which most are never-before-seen creations. The book will also contain tips, recipes and techniques that I have learned along the way. The pages will be filled with amazing photographs and all of my marshmallow and sweets decorating knowledge. On top of that, we are also working with an amazing team of talented, creative professionals to add a few “extra goodies” that will be exclusively available those who snag a copy.

We haven’t set a solid pre-order or release date yet but it won’t be too far out and I will be  sure to let you know as soon as it’s scheduled. I plan on taking you along this exciting journey with me by sharing some behind-the-scenes photos and stories through our blog. I’m still pinching myself over here while jumping up and down with excitement and trying to calm the butterflies in my stomach. I want to THANK YOU all for your love and support, it truly means the world to me and I hold it dear to my heart! Let’s get this show on the road….

{RECAP} FROM 2011 TO 2012

WOW…. is all I can say!

I cannot believe 2011 is over and now we’re getting ready to welcome 2012. This year was the first full year of The Marshmallow Studio. I can almost say we only really worked during half of it due to our second son being born and me still learning the business. Yet, it was a year of immense growth, monumental accomplishments and many lessons learned. I designed many pops, taught many students and made some friends along the way.

Looking back at everything that happened around here this past year makes me feel very blessed and proud. Must admit, a lot of it was possible with the sweet help of my husband, my two little boys who’ve given me all the strength and love I need to help push through the long nights, and a few valuable mentors.

Soooo, I wanted to put together a little recap of some of the fun we had in 2011 at The Marshmallow Studio. It’s a longer post than usual, but one that I truly enjoyed putting together for all of you to enjoy!! [Read more…]

TMS WEBSITE GETS A FACE LIFT {Personal Post}

Although I am ecstatic to have our new and beautiful website up, this post isn’t really all about that. It’s mostly about my amazing, loving, smart, supporting and sweet husband. He’s very modest and doesn’t like to be put on the spot-light. Well, I don’t care I am sooo putting him on it today because I am very proud of him and thankful to have someone like him in my life. As much as I’d like to take credit for making The Marshmallow Studio a successful company, I can’t help to acknowledge that without Kyle, my husband, we wouldn’t be where we are right now.

From day one, he’s been supportive, helpful and willing to do whatever it takes to be there for me. Whether it’d be designing me new business cards or making dinner cause I”m busy making ‘mallows. He is my partner in life and in the business. It amazes me how much he know about technology, design, business administration and law. He also knows how to cook, clean and make the boys giggle non-stop. I truly could not have asked for a better man to call my husband and to be the father of my children.

When we first designed and launched the original The Marshmallow Studio (TMS) website, we pretty much just needed to get it out. We were receiving orders and inquiries without advertising, having a Facebook page or website so we wanted to keep the momentum going. It was simple and had the essentials. With TMS growing, it was time for our website to represent that growth too. I wanted a fun, informative, bright and sweet website where our viewers could stay a while and feel like they have to purchase something to join in the fun.

The new website would include:

  • Direct access to our blog without leaving site
  • Product catalog
  • Class and event calendar
  • Press mentions and customer reviews
  • TMS buttons (Super cute ones too)
  • List of links to our favorite sites, vendors, and bloggers

Soooo…….After many weeks of late nights and cups of green tea (his favorite), The Marshmallow Studio has a new website. Check it out and let us know what you think 😉

A LITTLE ABOUT ALEJANDRA {ME}

{Perhaps this should have been one of the first things to do when I founded The Marshmallow Studio but seems I forgot about myself LOL}

It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the woman behind The Marshmallow Studio. My name is Alejandra Morin. First and foremost, I am a wife, a mommy, and a fun loving person. I love ice cream, cocktails, all yummy desserts and crafts. My hobbies include painting, cooking, baking, and scrapbooking. I enjoy listening to music, watching comedy movies, reading magazines and relaxing by the beach. I’m a bit of a workaholic who likes things to be perfect and organized. I put my all into everything I do and believe hard work does pay off in the end.

My little family:

My husband Kyle (AKA my graphic designer, my IT tech, my business advisor, and my partner in crime), my sons Aiden (DOB Aug. 2009) and Keiran (DOB Feb. 2011). They are the best!!! They are my motivation to keep going day after day.

Want to know more? Here is the official Bio that you can see on the website:

“With a background in event planning and a creative ability, Alejandra Morin successfully opened The Marshmallow Studio in April 2010. She graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island with an Associate’s Degree in Travel & Tourism Management. To quench her thirst for knowledge and work experience she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Administration, majoring in Meetings & Events Management. While in Las Vegas she became a top player in the nightclub industry and later for a destination management company. Yearning to be closer to the beach, her and her husband moved to San Diego where they currently reside along with their two sons.

In order to have a flexible schedule and raise their children, Alejandra learned the art of marshmallow designing from her mother and made into a business. Her goal is to popularize this art through her classes and designs so everyone can enjoy these deliciously adorable and unique new marshmallows. She wishes to soon publish a book to teach people all around the world how they too can make these fun and yummy marshmallow creations. “I want everyone to fall-in-love with marshmallows that way I have” says Alejandra.”
