GINGERBREAD-MARSHMALLOW VILLAGE

Christmas is my favorite holiday for so many reasons… I get to wear my cozy gear, go play in the snow, decorate the house, celebrate with family and friends, bake goodies, experience magical moments with my boys, and so much more.  As you can already imagine, I also love all the seasonal marshmallows that are available at this time of year.

Another thing that makes Christmas so fun for me is Gingerbread. Yes, gingerbread cookies, houses, lattes, and flavorings. As you may remember, last year I made a Gingerbread-Marshmallow North Pole Cabin for a contest Candy.com was having and I actually WON! This year, I wanted to do another gingerbread-marshmallow house but do it a little different. I decided to make a whole village!!

I got started by gathering my materials. Shhhh, I cheated a little by buying Wilton‘s pre-baked gingerbread village kit at Michael’s. But hey… that just means I would have more time to get creative right?! Well, the kit worked wonderfully and the cookies smelled so good. I also used royal icing, candy pearls from SweetWorks, sugar ice cream cones, candies, sprinkles and lots of Jet-Puffed marshmallows.

Here are a few photos of the creating process. I cannot tell you guys how much I enjoy getting in my zone and making these pieces. The tiny little details, bringing characters to life and adding unexpected touches are my favorite. Some people might say I have too much time on my hands but I call it having a passion and drive. Plus, I’m lucky enough to do what I love and earn income at the same time. Win, Win 🙂 !

Ready to take a tour of my fluffy village?

Who doesn’t love fresh fallen snow? These three gingerbread amigos do and they’re dancing away!

I always like to take an aerial view photo of my creations.

Here are the houses. Which one is your favorite? Mine is the teepee with the M&M’s and candy cane entryway.

I really had a fun time making this Gingerbread-Marshmallow Village. Maybe next year I’ll make something bigger and cooler with marshmallows and gingerbread again 😉

You can see lots and lots more photos on Jet-Puffed marshmallows Facebook photo album here.
