SPOOKY-LICIOUS HALLOWEEN PARTY FOR KIDS + GIVEAWAY

Halloween entertaining with KRAFT Giveaway

Halloween is such a fun holiday for kids and adults alike. Above is a photo from last year’s Halloween. My family and I dressed up as the s’mores family. I made the costumes from felt! My boys love getting dressed up and playing pretend. They also enjoy helping me cook and bake when I’m making pumpkin recipes, ghoulish treats and other Halloween themed goodies. I believe it’s very important to get them involved in the kitchen so they can learn to be independent, improve their fine motor skills, as well as expand their cause and effect comprehension. It’s a win-win; they help me, they learn and they have fun!

Halloween entertaining with KRAFT Giveaway

I recently received a wonderful package filled with awesome goodies at no cost to me from my friends at KRAFT Recipes. The sweetest part of it was that I would also be able to give one away to a lucky reader of my blog. I love when I get to spread the love and share great products I enjoy with you all. Here’s a list of the cool products that I received and will be included in the giveaway package:

(See below for details on how to enter this giveaway and win this fantastic prize package)

This package has all the essentials to make a fabulously spooky party. As soon as I opened the box, I was inspired to put together a little Halloween get-together for my boys and their two best friends. I decided to style a simple but festive spooky table setting with kid-friendly food and an activity.

The best part was that I only had to spend an additional $10 make this adorable table. Can you believe I purchased paper plates in two sizes, napkins, four cute cups, a plastic banner and paper treat cups all for ten dollars?!?!  I already had the forks, spoons, sign frame and mini mason jars.

I wanted to give the tiered tray a double purpose – centerpiece and serving tray for all the food. I placed it in the center of the table and  then styled the food on each tier.

For the menu, I served MACARONI & CHEESE in mini mason jars with orange twine around the rim, sugar cookie bones dusted with cocoa powder to make them look real, JELL-O Jigglers, PHILADELPHIA cream cheese spread drizzled with soy sauce and sesame seeds, whole-wheat crackers, and JET-PUFFED Jumbo Pumpkin Mallows.  I filled their little cups with sparkling mango punch.

The kids absolutely loved the food options and the fact that it was within reach to them. Kids usually have to wait until an adult hands it to them or raises them to see the choices – this time, the food was right on their table for them to enjoy!

Halloween entertaining with KRAFT Giveaway

I even had an activity they could do right at the table and then eat it afterwards. I had the kids draw Jack O’ Lanterns on JET-PUFFED Jumbo Pumpkin Mallows with edible ink markers.

You could also make these in advance and use them to hold name cards by attaching them to the picks inserted into the marshmallows.

I also love what you did with the table setting! Why in this party planning biz we tend to make the tables look so good for pictures but don’t think of the usability and user-friendliness? By having the kids sit at the same table where the goodies are they only (probably) spread the foods at one place ;D
