{DIY} BACK-TO-SCHOOL APPLE MARSHMALLOW POPS

Back-to-school Apple Marshmallow Pops by TheMarshmallowStudio

Wowzers, this summer has flown by!!

Time to switch gears and get ready for my favorite part of the year – Fall and Winter. Sure I love having the kiddos at home, all the outdoor nights eating s’mores, and the hot water fun but there’s something magical about the leaves turning and the weather cooling down that makes me feel all giddy inside.

This year I’m particularly excited for back-to-school season. My boys are 3.5 and 5 years old. One will go into his second year in preschool and my other will go into Kindergarten. They are both finally going to be going to the same school and having the same schedule. Woohoo!! I’m that mom that make special gifts for the teachers and sends in special treats every special occasion. Teachers like me, haha!

To quick off this school year with A+ extra credit parent points, I’m going to be making my boy’s teachers baskets full of Apple Marshmallow Pops.

Making these pops is like second nature to me. I’ve been making marshmallow pops and art for over four years now.  Today you’re in luck my friend…. I’m going to teach you how to WOW your kid’s teachers too!

{RECIPE} SHORTBREAD CUPS WITH GRILLED PEACHES AND MARSHMALLOW DIP

Shortbread Cups with Grilled Peaches and Marshmallow Dip by TheMarshmallowStudio

For The Love Of Cheese – and peaches and marshmallows!!

This month I was asked to create a recipe celebrating cheese-filled entertainment recipes for Kraft Recipes. For the Love of Cheese… well, that’s the easiest thing I’ve ever been asked to do since I absolutely love cheese…. all kinds of cheese. From the stinky, tangy flavor of Bleu cheese to the creamy sweetness of Brie and even the simple Monterey Jack, I could eat it all day, every day and never get tired of it. I think cheese goes particularly well with bacon (hahaha what doesn’t?!) There are so many kinds of cheese and even more ways to incorporate it into meals. The possibilities are truly endless!

{RECIPE} PATRIOTIC RED VELVET STAR CAKES

Patriotic Red Velvet Star Cakes by TheMarshmallowStudio

It’s warm outside, the kiddos are out for vacations and every weekend is an opportunity to be outdoors and hanging out with friends.

One holiday that I definitely look forward to every summer is 4th of July. We usually have a BBQ in our backyard and have some friends and family over. Most of the time, our menu consists of bacon wrapped hot dogs, Mexican grilled corn, a salad and a few desserts. After our bellies are full, we go to the front and light up some fireworks. The boys especially love the sparklers.

Now let’s talk dessert… If you follow me on Instagram or read my blog, you  know that it’s no secret that red velvet with cream cheese frosting is my favorite cake.  I pretty much make it all the time for all occasions and holidays. Being that it’s red, it’s only natural that I would make it again to celebrate this beautiful country on its day.

There are many ways to make any cake festive. You can decorate it, you can layer it into little jars, or you can cut it into shapes. I thought making individual star cakes that were pre decorated and served would make my get together easier to manager and more fun for my guests.  These are super easy to make and always a hit!

{DIY} DECORATED EASTER EGGMALLOWS

Easter Marshmallow Desserts by The Marshmallow Studio - small

Is Spring in the air in your city already? It’s definitely  here in Las Vegas as I type!

My second favorite season of the year is Spring. The air is crisp, the trees start getting green again and the flowers bloom all around. About this time, I get a burst of energy that makes me want to open up the windows, clean every cranny of my house and declutter everything. Hahaha, I guess that’s why they call it Spring cleaning.

{RECIPE} FUN-DUE!

Fondue Valentines_TheMarshmallowStudio4

Although any day is a great day for some fondue fun, it seems like it’s extra popular during Valentine’s Day. Perhaps because it’s a fun way to enjoy a meal with your loved one or because it’s so versatile that you can fondue just about any type of food.  You can use it to melt cheese and dip veggies, put hot oil and fry meats or with many hot dips. Little ones, teenagers, parents, couples, seniors…. anyone can join in the fun so it’s awesome!

{RECIPE} SLOW COOKER CHOCOLATE CHIP MARSHMALLOW COOKIE

Slow Cookier CCC_TheMarshmallowStudio

I’ve heard of all kinds of unusual foods being cooked in slow cookers that had me intrigued. We all know the usual meals that can be cooked in slow cookers: soups, pot roast, casseroles, etc. but have you heard of cookies? I’m all about trying new things in the name of dessert so I decided to give this idea a try.  Seriously, being able to put it all together and walking away to do other things while it cooks is such an amazing concept! Whoever invented this appliance is a true genius.
